Install Rain/Light Sensor - AR82.30-P-7802-01ME

Model 118, 167, 177, 206, 223, 232, 243, 247, 254, 295, 296, 297

NOTES Do not touch coupling medium of rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2). The coupling medium must not be soiled.

Otherwise it may be damaged and malfunctions may occur.

Preparation 

  1. Clean windshield in area of rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).

    NOTES The windshield must be free of residue and dry in the area of the rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).

    Otherwise, the rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2) may be damaged or malfunction.

  2. Remove transport protection cap of rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).

    If a new rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2) is installed.

    Check 

  3. Check coupling medium of rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).

    IMPORTANT The coupling medium must have an undamaged, ↓ unsoiled area with a diameter of at least 31 mm. There must not be any air pockets greater than 1 mm and there should be no more than 3 air pockets present.

    Install 

  4. Position rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2) on fastener (1) of windshield and clip in.

    IMPORTANT The rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2) must engage into the fastener (1) audibly twice.

    Check 

  5. Check rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2) for correct seating.

    IMPORTANT The retaining clamps must be correctly latched (arrows a) and the conductor track (arrow b) must lay smooth-surfaced on the windshield.

  6. Check whether there are air pockets between the coupling medium and windshield.

    IMPORTANT Smaller air pockets are permissible; they usually disappear after 2 h.

    If there is a problem,

    If there is a problem, ↓ Replace rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).

    Remove and reinstall rain and light sensor with additional functions (B38/2).
