Connection scheme
Routing diagram
- Route Dashcam wiring harness (8) from front Dashcam mount under roof lining towards left to A-pillar.
- Fasten ferrite core of Dashcam wiring harness (8) to overhead control panel mount (36) using cable ties (arrows A).
- Route the three individual lines of the Dashcam wiring harness (8) above the window airbag (30) up to the footwell.
Route the three individual lines of the Dashcam wiring harness (8) behind the crossmember for the instrument panel.
- Route ground line (8.10) of Dashcam wiring harness to left footwell ground point (W34) and connect.
- Remove violet connector socket (MR2) at front central control unit (N10/6).
- Remove gray 21-pin connector socket insert from violet connector socket (MR2).
- Remove line (20) from contact cavity "29" of gray 21-pin connector socket insert (19).
The appropriate tool is available in the basic wiring harness repair kit
or the supplementary passenger car wiring harness repair kit
.
- Install line (20) into free contact cavity of blue 2-pin connector socket (8.3) of Dashcam wiring harness (8).
- Lock blue 2-pin connector socket (8.3).
- Install line (8.8) of Y-line (8.7) into contact cavity "29" of gray 21-pin connector socket insert (19).
- Install gray 21-pin connector socket insert into violet connector socket (MR2).
- Attach violet connector socket (MR2) to front central control unit (N10/6).
- Connect blue 2-pin connector socket (8.3) of Dashcam wiring harness (8) to blue 2-pin plug (8.9) of Y-line (8.7).
- Remove electrical fuse (29) from slot 213 (arrow B) of driver fuse and relay module (F152/1).
The electrical fuse (29) is reused.
The fuse rating of the electrical fuse (29) is 20 A.
- Remove lock (24) from driver fuse and relay module (F152/1).
- Remove red/black line (25) from contact cavity "8" (arrow C) of driver fuse and relay module (F152/1).
The appropriate tool is available in the basic wiring harness repair kit
or the supplementary passenger car wiring harness repair kit
.
- Install red line (8.12) of Y-line (8.6) into contact cavity "8" (arrow C) of driver fuse and relay module (F152/1).
- Install removed red/black line (25) into free contact cavity of fuse holder (8.4) of Y-line (8.6).
- Attach lock (24) to driver fuse and relay module.
- Install lock (8.13) into fuse holder (8.4) (arrow D).
- Install electrical fuse (29) into fuse holder (8.4).
The electrical fuse (29) was removed beforehand. The fuse rating of the electrical fuse (29) is 20 A.
- Plug both fuse holders (8.4, 8.5) of Dashcam wiring harness (8) together.
- Install the electrical fuse (55) included in the parts kit into slot 213 (arrow B) of the driver fuse and relay module (F152/1).
The fuse rating of the electrical fuse (55) is 25 A.
- Insert black plug (8.1) of Dashcam wiring harness (8) into pocket (40) made of felt.
- Fasten pocket (40) to Dashcam wiring harness (8) using fabric tape (41).
- Route line branch-off for rear Dashcam up to installation location of driver fuse and relay module.
Route line branch-off above window airbag.
Route line branch-off for rear Dashcam along A-pillar in front of instrument panel crossmember.
- Tie line branch-off for rear Dashcam (arrow K) and fix in place in installation space place behind the driver fuse and relay module.
- Strap down excess lengths of Dashcam wiring harness in area of A-pillar.
- Finally, secure Dashcam wiring harness on roof lining using felt adhesive tape.
