Suspension and damping 

For the new Mercedes-AMG E Performance models of the C-Class model 206, the already known suspension and damping system with code 459 (steel suspension with adjustable damping) as standard equipment.

In the new Mercedes-AMG SL 63 S E Performance model 232, the active suspension with code 470 (Semi-active roll stabilization (semi ARS)) with selective damping system, lowering, and optional adjustment suspension (Code 479) is part of the standard equipment.

In the new Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance 4-door coupe, model 290, the suspension and damping system AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension (Code 489) is part of the standard equipment.

In the new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E Performance sedan (elongated wheelbase) model 223, the suspension and damping system AIRMATIC Dual Control/semi-active air suspension (Code 489) is also part of the standard equipment.

AIRMATIC 

AIRMATIC has the following new functions:

• Quicker lowering and lifting through the open air supply and control of the new air suspension system in a controller unit.
• Automatic lowering at higher speeds; thus, reduction of consumption.
• More vehicle dynamics through automatic lowering function in combination with the Sport drive program.
• Option of setting an increased driving level up to 60 km/h (ground clearance independent of load).
