Model 257, 290 up to Model year 2021 except code 275 (Memory Package (driver's seat, steering column and mirror)) except code 278 (Fully electric front seats)
Function requirements, general
- Circuit 15R ON or run-on active
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
After switching off the circuit 15R, the power seats can still be adjusted for 180 s (run-on time). If the circuit status or door status changes during the run-on time, the run-on time starts again.
Electrical seat adjustment in general
The electrical seat adjustment enables the driver and front passenger seat to be electrically adjusted. The driver and front passenger seat can be adjusted as follows:
- Backrest inclination
- Seat inclination (Model 257, Model 290 with code P65 (Seat Comfort Package))
- Seat height
Electric seat adjustment
To adjust the seats, the following switches must be pressed and held until the required position is reached:
- Driver seat partially electric seat adjustment switch
- Front passenger seat partially electric seat adjustment switch
Following this, the corresponding seat adjustment motor is actuated:
- Seat adjustment motor, backrest inclination
- Seat inclination adjustment seat adjustment motor (Model 257, Model 290 with code P65 (Seat Comfort Package))
- Seat adjustment motor for seat height adjustment
The seat adjustment motors are directly supplied with power by the rear fuse and relay module (K40/5) via the respective partially electric seat adjustment switch.
Antilock device:
Since the electrical seat adjustment does not have a sensor system or its own control unit, the anti-lock protection occurs by means of a thermal fuse in the seat adjustment motors. As a result, if the respective seat adjustment motor is blocked, it is not switched off until it exceeds a certain temperature threshold.
