DANGER Risk of fire  due to ignition of R1234yf refrigerant on hot components. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury  to skin and eyes caused by contact with escaped R1234yf refrigerant and when working on pressurized parts. Risk of explosion  due to formation of ignitable refrigerant/air mixtures Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Discharge air conditioning system.   AR83.30-P-1760FR 
2 Remove upper engine cover (12).   AR01.10-P-2405MSA
3 Remove engine air intake duct (13).    
4 Remove retaining clips and remove cold air intake (14).    
5 Drill out rivets of support plates of front bumper at the crossmember. IMPORTANTCommercially available devices/tools 
drill
riveter		  
    IMPORTANT Remove drilling chips.  
6 Remove screws of supports of front bumper.    
7 Remove screws (15), remove retaining clips and remove crossmember (16). TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6x1 *BA00.10-P-1002-04A 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION M8x1 *BA00.10-P-1004-04A 
8 Remove plug (3). TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 290 with engine 256
Plug to condenser		 *BA83.30-P-1007-01S 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Model 257 with engine 256
Plug to condenser		 *BA83.30-P-1008-01R 
9 Remove circlip (4).    
10 Screw in screw M12 (5) into drier head (6) and pull out drier head (6).    
11 Remove drier module holder (8) at pin (7) using suitable pliers.    
12 Remove drier module riser line (9) together with drier module filter housing (10). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT If the packaging of a new desiccant bag (11) is damaged, do not install it. Place new desiccant bag (11) onto drier module riser line (9).  
13 Install in the reverse order.
