Location
The telephone control unit is installed in the glove compartment.
Tasks
The telephone control unit uses the SIM card (Subscriber Identification Module) in the integrated card reader or, via the SIM Access Profile (SAP), the SIM card of a connected mobile phone. The telephone control unit has the following tasks:
- Receives the wake-up signal via the telematics CAN (CAN A) from the head unit (A26/17)
- Communication with the head unit via the telematics CAN (CAN A) (e.g. status of the SIM card, operation signals)
- Communication (Internet configuration, Internet data, settings) with the head unit via WLAN and the W-LAN antenna (A2/83)
- Bluetooth® communication with the head unit via the Bluetooth® antenna, e.g. with the following Bluetooth® profiles:
- HFP (Hands-Free Profile)
- MAP (Message Access Profile)
- PBAP (Phonebook Access Profile)
- SPP (Serial Port Profile)
- Bluetooth® communication with a mobile phone (e.g. SAP)
- Communication with the mobile phone network via the telephone antenna splitter (A2/109), with code B24 (Remote control for stationary heater) or with code 503 (Remote-controlled parking) via the telephone antenna changeover switch and Remote Parking Pilot/stationary heater (A2/155) and with code 899 (Multifunction telephony) also via the telephone antenna changeover switch (A2/168)
- If the telephone control unit is selected as the Wi-Fi hotspot: provision of Internet connection for external guests
- With code 899 (Multifunction telephony): actuation of telephone antenna changeover switch
