Windshield CROSSMEMBER Removal - Ar62.25-P-1120-01FR

Model 257, 290 

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on model 257.

The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.

IMPORTANT The following operation steps 1, 2 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle.

  1. Expose spot welds on crossmember (1) and mounting support (2) and drill out with ø 6.5 mm (areas A, C).
  2. Expose inert gas welds on mounting console (2) and cut (area B).

  3. Expose spot welds at crossmember (1) and mounting supports (2) and cut off (areas D, E).

    IMPORTANT Joint spot welds on panels that are one behind the other must be cut out through two panel thicknesses.

  4. Heat crossmember (1) in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  5. Remove crossmember (1) and mounting consoles (2).

    IMPORTANT The following operation steps 6, 7 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle.

  6. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
  7. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
