Bonding area must be fully free from dust and grease.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
When damaged to a degree of ≤ 10 % it is possible to repair with primer stick. If damage is > 10 % the window frame must be coated with primer filler.
Otherwise corrosion damage may occur.
Use only primer fillers and primer sticks approved by Daimler AG: https: //xentryportal.i.daimler.com
Use only the repair kit specified in the EPC.
- Reduce residual adhesive material at window frame (1) using a suitable scraper to a height of approx. 2 mm and remove loose residual adhesive material.
- Clean working area.
- Clean bonding area (2) at window frame (1) using a suitable cleaner and wipe dry using a dry cloth.
- Repair paint damage in bonding area (2) and on window frame (1) with primer stick or primer filler.
Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing time of the primer filler.
- Apply primer to areas of window frame (1) where no remaining or damaged adhesive is present.
The primer must flash off for at least 10 min.
Otherwise the adhesive force of the adhesive material starts to decrease.
