Windshield CROSSMEMBER Installation - Ar62.25-P-1120-04FR

Model 257, 290 

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on model 257.

Additional information can be found in the superordinate service document.

The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.

IMPORTANT The following operation steps 1, 2, 3 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle.

  1. Install crossmember (1) and mounting console (2), fit and fix in place.
  2. Drill rivet holes in crossmember (1) and mounting support (2) with ø 6.7 mm (areas A, B1 , B2 ).

    IMPORTANT Drill rivet holes through existing holes in body (areas B1 , B2 ).

  3. Countersink rivet holes on body (area B1 ).

  4. Drill rivet holes crossmember (1) and mounting consoles (2) with ø 6.7 mm bit (areas C).
  5. Remove crossmember (1) and mounting consoles (2).
  6. Deburr rivet holes on crossmember (1) and mounting consoles (2) and body on both sides.
  7. Remove drilling chips.
  8. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

  9. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched area.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  10. Install crossmember (1) and mounting consoles (2) and fix in place.
  11. Rivet crossmember (1) and mounting consoles (2) with ø 6.4x12 rivets (areas G1 ).
  12. Rivet crossmember (1) and mounting support (2) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5x12.5 (areas G2 , G3 ).
  13. Rivet crossmember (1) and mounting consoles (2) with ø 6.5x14.5 rivets (areas G4 ).
  14. Crossmember (1) and mounting consoles (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (areas H).
  15. Crossmember (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE-ROW SPOT WELD (area I).

    IMPORTANT The following operation steps 16, 17, 18, 19 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be similarly performed on the right side of the vehicle.

  16. Rivet crossmember (1) and mounting console (2) with ø 6.4x12 (areas D1 ).
  17. Rivet crossmember (1) and mounting console (2) with ø 6.5x14.5 rivets (area D2 ).
  18. Rivet crossmember (1) and mounting console (2) with ø 6, 4x15, 5 countersunk-head blind rivets (area E).
  19. Mounting console (2) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area F).
