| Remove/install | |||
| 1 | Remove seat backrest trim. | AR91.10-P-1912FR | |
| 2 | Disconnect ground line on battery. | AR54.10-P-0003FR | |
| 3 | Disconnect electrical connection (2). | ||
| 4 | Release catch hook (4). | ||
| 5 | Unhook gas generator (3) with bracket (6) from seat backrest shell (5) and guide out as shown. | ||
| 6 | Detach electrical connector (7). | Fig 2 | |
| 7 | Remove retaining ring (8). | Check retaining ring (8) is correctly seated. Otherwise, a malfunction of the PRE-SAFE® pulse side may occur. |

| 8 | Press ring (9) in direction of gas generator (3). | ||
| 9 | Pull pressure line (10) out of gas generator (3). | Ensure correct seating of pressure line (10). Otherwise, a malfunction of the PRE-SAFE® pulse side may occur. |

| 11 | Check Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) using vehicle diagnosis system. | ||
