	Remove
1	Remove the rear engine support.
		Model 213 with engine 177	AR22.10-P-4360MNE

	Clean
2	Clean area surrounding drain screw (2).
	Remove
3	Place absorbent shop towel in area between engine mount and drain screw (2).
4	Remove drain screw (2) from transfer case.
	Drain off
5	Pull out overflow pipe using extraction hook and drain oil from transfer case.	Collect escaping oil in a suitable container. Damage can otherwise occur. Extraction hook	Fig 3
	Clean
6	Clean threaded hole in transfer case.
	Install
7	Insert overflow pipe into transfer case and screw in using old drain screw (2) until the overflow pipe latches audibly into place.
	Remove
8	Remove old drain screw (2) from transfer case.	Dispose of old drain screw (2). Otherwise, this may lead to leakage and consequential damage.
	Install
9	Screw the adapter (4) with the sealing ring (5) into the threaded hole of the drain screw (2).	Adapter	Fig 2
	Pour in
10	Add specified oil filling capacity to hand pump.	Transfer case oil	*BF28.10-P-1001-01F

13	Disconnect hand pump from adapter (4).	Drain off excess oil. Damage can otherwise occur. Hand pump	Fig 1
		Adapter If less than 50 ml of oil flow out of the transfer case, ↓ Fill 100 ml into hand pump and repeat operation step 11. If more than 50 ml of oil flows out of the transfer case ↓ transfer case is sufficiently filled; continue with operation step 14.	Fig 2
	Remove
14	Remove adapter (4) with sealing ring (5) from threaded hole of drain screw (2).	Adapter	Fig 2
	Clean
15	Clean threaded hole of drain screw (2) in transfer case.
	Install
16	Screw new drain screw (2) tightly into transfer case.	Replace drain screw (2) each time it is removed. Otherwise, this may lead to leakage and consequential damage. Drain screw to transfer case	*BA28.10-P-1003-01G
17	Remove shop towel.
18	Install rear engine carrier.
		Model 213 with engine 177	AR22.10-P-4360MNE

		Model 290 with engine 177	AR22.10-P-4360MNI
	Reset learned values
19	Connect diagnostic unit.
		Model 213.061/261 with transmission 725.0	AD00.00-P-2000-04B
		Model 238.361/461 with transmission 725.0	AD00.00-P-2000-06LWO

20	Reset learned values in transfer case control unit.
21	Disconnect diagnostic unit.
