| 1 | Remove corresponding rear wheel. | AR40.10-P-1102A | |
| 2 | Remove cover from spring link (6). | ||
| 3 | Unfasten fender liner in rear fender in area of shock absorber (4). | AR88.10-P-1302FR | |
| 4 | Disconnect electrical connectors at shock absorber (4). | ||
| 5 | Unscrew nut from screw (5). | ||

| 6 | Support spring link (6) with a suitable hydraulic lifting device and remove screw (5) from spring link (6). | ||

| 8.1 | Press shock absorber (4) together and remove upward. | Model 290 with code 201 (Rear axle steering) |

| 8.2 | Press shock absorber (4) together as shown with tension belt (3) and remove upward. | Model 290 except code 201 (Rear axle steering) Ensure that the surface of the shock absorber (4) is not damaged by the ratchet wrench (2) of the tension belt (3). Otherwise the shock absorber (4) must not be reused. |

| 9 | Check shock absorber (4) for damage and leakage. | If there is a problem: ↓ Replace shock absorber (4). |

| 10 | Check suspension strut mount (12) and seal (13) for damage. | If there is a problem: ↓ Replace shock absorber (4). |
|
| 11 | Install in reverse order. |
