In response to a clearly-stated customer request, on........, the function of the side airbag, the automatic child seat recognition (ACSR), and seat occupancy recognition (SBE) has been deactivated on the front passenger side. There is an increased risk of injury for vehicle occupants resulting from this measure. There may, in particular, be
- no activation of the side airbag,
- no automatic deactivation of the front passenger airbag when the front passenger seat is unoccupied,
- no front passenger airbag shutoff despite use of an MB child seat with transponder (automatic shutoff of the front passenger airbag), and
- no 2-stage triggering of the front passenger airbag as a consequence.
This is expressly pointed out to the customer who undertakes likewise to inform other users of the vehicle. The sign "Warning! This vehicle does not have automatic child seat recognition!" has been attached to the right side of the armatures.
Copy sheet, cut off here and stick the upper section into the Operator's Manual at the beginning of the SAFETY chapter.
