The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 213.0; in the event of damage to the right side of the vehicle, perform in the same way.

The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Expose self-piercing riveting on the inner rear wheel well (1) and drill through with a diameter of 6 mm (areas A and C).
2. Expose spot welds on the inner rear wheel well (1) and cut out (areas B).
3. Expose impact spikes on the inner rear wheel well (1) and cut out (area B₁ ).

4. Heat inner rear wheel well (1) in crosshatched areas.

   Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

5. Remove inner rear wheel well (1).

6. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

   Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

7. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
8. Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges. onto connecting flanges that are no longer accessible after installing side roof paneling.

   Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas D).

   Otherwise adhesion problems can occur.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
