Rear Longitudinal Member Section Installation - Ar64.20-P-1260-03LWE

Model 213.0/2, 290 

Model 213.1 except code ME08 (Hybrid drive 75-84 kW VARIANT (INCLUDING PLUGIN)) 

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

1. Install rear-end floor (1) with straightening tool, fit and fix in place.
2. Drill ø 6.7 mm rivet on rear-end floor (1) through present holes in rear-end floor (1) (area A).
3. Drill ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in rearend floor (1) from outside through present holes in body (area B).
4. Drill ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in rearend floor (1) from bottom through present holes in body (area C).
5. Countersink rivet holes (areas A, B and C).

6. Drill ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) (area T).

   Only on repair on right side of vehicle.

7. Drill ø 6.7 mm in rear-end floor (1) from outside through present holes in body (area U).

   Only on repair on right side of vehicle.

8. Install adapter panel (10), fit and fix in place.
9. Mark positions for rivet holes on adapter panel (10).

   Dimensions: 

   d₁ = approx. 16 mm

   d₂ = approx. 64 mm

   e₁ = approx. 46 mm

   e₂ = approx. 56 mm

10. Drill ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in adapter panel (10) (areas F and G).

    Drill rivet holes in previously marked positions (area F).

11. Remove rear-end floor (1) and adapter panel (10).
12. Deburr rivet holes on rear-end floor (1), adapter panel (10) and body on both sides.
13. Remove drilling chips.
14. Coat insides of riveted joints on adapter panel (10) with zinc dust paint (areas F and G).

15. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

16. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    Only on repair on right side of vehicle.

17. Install rear-end floor (1) with straightening tool and fix in place.
18. Install adapter panel (10) and fix in place.
19. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with ø 6.4x17.0 countersunk head rivet (areas H).
20. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with ø 6.4x21.0 countersunk head rivet (area I).
21. Rivet adapter panel (10) with ø 6.4x12 rivet (area J).
22. Rivet adapter panel (10) with ø 6.5x14.5 rivet (area K).
23. Rivet adapter panel (10) with ø 6.4 rivet (area L).

24. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with ø 6.4 rivets (area W).

    Only on repair on right side of vehicle.

25. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with ø 6.5x14.5 rivet (area V).

26. Install rear longitudinal member (2), fit and fix in place.
27. Drill rivet holes on rear longitudinal member (2) with ø 6.7 mm bit (areas M and N).

    Drill rivet holes through present holes in body (area M).

28. Remove rear longitudinal member (2).
29. Deburr rivet holes on longitudinal member (2) and body on both sides.
30. Remove drilling chips.

31. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    Apply 2-component adhesive to inside (area O).

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

32. Install rear longitudinal member (2) and fix in place.
33. Rivet rear longitudinal member (2) with ø 6.5x12.5 rivet (area P).
34. Rivet rear longitudinal member (2) with ø 6.4 M6 rivet (areas Q).
35. Rivet rear longitudinal member (2) with ø 6.4 rivet (area R).
36. Rear-end floor (1) and rear longitudinal member (2) (areas S).
