Rear Floor Installation - Ar64.20-P-1300-04LWE

Model 213.0/2, 290 

Model 213.1 except code ME08 (Hybrid drive 75-84 kW VARIANT (INCLUDING PLUGIN)) 

IMPORTANT The next steps are shown on model 213.0.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

  1. Install rear floor (1) and fix in place.

    IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.

  2. Place vehicle on straightening bench and fasten.
  3. Fit rear-end floor (1) with straightening tool and fix in place.
  4. Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit (areas A).

    IMPORTANT The next steps 5, 6, and 7 are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.

  5. Mark positions for rivet holes on rear-end floor (1).

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    a1 = 26 mm

    a2 = 18 mm

    b1 = 8 mm

    b2 = 23 mm

    c1 = 8 mm

    c2 = 40 mm

    d1 = 16 mm

    d2 = 28 mm

    e1 = 28 mm

    f1 = 8 mm

    f2 = 12 mm

    g = 12 mm

  6. Drill rivet holes at previously marked positions in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit (areas B).
  7. Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit (area C).
  8. Drill rear-end floor (1) with a 6.0 mm diameter bit through one panel thickness for spot welding (areas D).
  9. Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit (area E).

    IMPORTANT You must drill through the longitudinal member reinforcement behind it.

  10. Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit (areas F1 ).
  11. Model 213.0/1

    Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit through existing holes in body (area F2 ).

  12. Drill rear-end floor (1) with a 6.0 mm diameter bit through one panel thickness for spot welding (areas G).
  13. Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit (area H).

    IMPORTANT You must drill through the longitudinal member reinforcement behind it.

  14. Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit (areas I1 ).
  15. Model 213.0/1

    Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit through existing holes in body (area I2 ).

  17. Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit (area J).

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    J= 28 mm

    Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit through existing holes in body (area K).

  19. Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit (area L).
  20. Model 213.0/1

    Drill rivet holes in rear-end floor (1) with a 6.7 mm diameter bit through existing holes in body (area M).

  21. Release vehicle from straightening bench, lift and remove straightening bench.
  22. Remove rear-end floor (1) downward toward rear.

    IMPORTANT Aid of helper required.

  23. Deburr rivet holes on rear-end floor (1) and on body on both sides.
  24. Remove drilling chips.

    IMPORTANT To maintain the curing and processing time specified in the instructions for the 2-component adhesive, it is necessary for at least 3 experienced workers to cooperate in performing the following operation steps. while dividing up the operation steps appropriately and performing them as concurrently as possible.

    In some cases it is necessary to have and use several sets of the required tools.

    Mark rivet holes and rivets in color to match one another.

  25. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

    1. Model 213.0/1

      Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas (areas N and O1 ).

      IMPORTANT Apply 2-component adhesive to inside (areas N).

      Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

    2. Model 213.2, 290

      Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas (area O2 ).

      IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  26. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

    1. Model 213.0/1

      Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas (areas P and Q1 ).

      IMPORTANT Apply 2-component adhesive to inside (areas P).

    2. Model 213.2, 290

      Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas (area Q2 ).

      IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  27. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

    IMPORTANT For the following operation steps ensure that all rivets are first set and pulled before welding the areas in question.

  28. Install rear floor (1) and fix in place.
  29. Place vehicle on straightening bench and fasten.
  30. Align rear-end floor (1) with straightening tool and fix in place.
  31. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with ø 6.4x12 rivet (areas R1 ).
  32. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with 6.5x12.5 diameter rivets (areas R2 , R3 ).

  33. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with 6.5x12.5 diameter rivets (areas S1 , S2 ).

    IMPORTANT The operation step is shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.

  34. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with a flowform rivets structure with 4 mm to 5.15 mm clamping range (S3) (area T1 ).
  35. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with ø 6.4x12 rivet (areas T2 ).
  36. Rivet rear-end floor (1) with 6.5x12.5 diameter rivets (areas T3 ).
  37. Model 213.0/1

    Rivet rear-end floor (1) with 6.5x14.5 diameter rivets (area T4 ).

  38. Rear-end floor (1) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (areas U1 ).
  39. Model 213.0/1

    Rear-end floor (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area U2 ).
