The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.
- Expose spot welds on rear axle crossmember (3) and cut out (areas A).
- Expose self-pierce rivets on rear end crossmember (3) and drill through with drill bit with a diameter of 6 mm (areas B).
- Expose impact spikes on rear axle crossmember (3) and cut out (areas C).
- Expose impact spikes on rear-end crossmember (3) and drill through (areas C1
).
- Heat rear axle crossmember (3) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove rear axle crossmember (3).
The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.
- Expose impact spikes on rear-end floor reinforcement (1) and cut off (areas D).
- Expose self-pierce rivets on rear-end floor reinforcement (1) and drill through with drill bit with a diameter of 6 mm (areas E).
- Heat rear-end floor reinforcement (1) in hatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove rear-end floor reinforcement (1).
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
