The following operation steps are shown on model 257.

The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.

1. Grind mating surfaces on rear axle crossmember (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
2. Remove grinding dust.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

3. Grind mating surfaces on rear axle crossmember (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
4. Remove grinding dust.

5. Grind mating surfaces on rear axle crossmember upper section (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
6. Remove grinding dust.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

7. Grind mating surface on the striker plates (3) down to bare metal in cross-hatched area.
8. Remove grinding dust.

   Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.
