Additional information can be found in the superordinate service document.
The safety information in the superordinate service document must be observed.
- Install upper front longitudinal member (1), fit and fix in place with
welding fixture and
adapter set.
- Drill rivet holes with a diameter of 6.7 mm into upper front longitudinal member (1) (areas A, B).
Drill rivet holes from inside through present hole in body (area B).
- Remove upper front longitudinal member (1) and
welding fixture and
adapter set.
- Deburr drill holes on upper front longitudinal member (1) and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install and fix in place upper front longitudinal member (1) with
welding fixture and
adapter set.
- Rivet upper front longitudinal member (1) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5x12.5 (areas C, D).
- Upper front longitudinal member (1)
(area E).
- Upper front longitudinal member (1)
(area F).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.
Remove welding fixture and
adapter set.
- Grind inert gas weld down flat on upper front longitudinal member (1) (area F).
Grind down flat only in beaded areas and contact surfaces of strut.
- Install strut (2), fit and fix in place
- Drill rivet holes with a diameter of 6.7 mm in strut (2) (areas G, H, I, J, K, L, M).
- Remove strut (2).
- Deburr rivet holes in strut (2) and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Coat insides of riveted joints in areas not bonded with zinc dust paint.
Do not apply zinc dust paint to bonding surfaces.
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Rivet strut (2) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5x12.5 (areas N, O, Q).
- Rivet strut (2) with rivets with a diameter of 6.4x12 (areas P, R).
