DANGER Risk of accident  when commissioning the vehicle due to a lack of braking effect when the service brake is operated for the first time after repair work. Before starting the engine, actuate brake pedal several times until pressure is built up and maintained in the brake system. AS42.50-Z-0002-01A 
CAUTION Risk of poisoning  from swallowing brake fluid. Risk of injury  from skin and eye contact with brake fluid Only pour brake fluid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. Wear protective clothing and eye protection when handling brake fluid. AS42.50-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove brake pads (3).   AR42.10-P-1610FRX 
2 Remove electric plug connection for front right brakepad wear sensor from brake caliper (1). Only when removing right brake caliper (1).  
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, brake wear sensor to brake caliper *BA42.10-P-1002-10BA 
3 Remove brake hose (4).   AR42.10-P-0026FR 
4 Remove bolts (2) and brake caliper (1). INSTALLATION IMPORTANT
The new brake caliper (1) is shipped in prefilled condition and it may not be drained.
Otherwise the brake caliper (1) cannot be vented.
 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, brake caliper to steering knuckle *BA42.10-P-1001-10BA 
INSPECT Check     
5 Check brake caliper (1) and dust boots of brake piston for leak tightness and damage. In the event of a problem,

replace brake caliper (1).
 
6 Check brake disk for wear and condition. In the event of a problem,

replace the brake disks.

7 Install in the reverse order.    
8 Bleed brake system.   AR42.10-P-0010FR 
9 Operate brake pedal several times until the brake pads (3) make contact with the brake disks. IMPORTANT Firm resistance should be noticeable at the brake pedal.  
INSPECT Check     
10 Check and correct brake fluid level in brake fluid reservoir.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP42.10-P-4210B
11 Perform brake test on test stand.
