Check preload of the front side window (1) at the seal (9), shown on model 257
- Move front door to first lock catch.
- Check for contact of the window edge of the front side window (1) with the seal (9).
Window edge of front side window (1) must just be in contact with seal in upper area (arrow) (9).
If there is a problem,

adjust front side window (1) to the seal (9).
Adjust preload of the front side window (1) at the seal (9), shown on model 257
- Open front door
- Release nut (10) with the
socket wrench and with the
socket wrench socket and adjust the preload of the front side window (1) by turning the setting screw (11).
Turn setting screw (11) only until the adjustment force increases noticeably. Max. adjustment range is thus achieved.
Turning the setting screw (11) counterclockwise increases ("+") preload of the front side window (1).
Turning the setting screw (11) clockwise reduces ("-") preload of the front side window (1).
- Move front door to first lock catch.
- Check for contact of the window edge of the front side window (1) with the seal (9).
Do not continue turning setting screw (11).
Thread will otherwise be damaged.
Do not unscrew nut (10) from the setting screw (11).
Otherwise the adjustment screw (11) can be pressed behind the door module and can no longer be reached.
If there is a problem,

Adjust once again front side window (1).
- Open front door.
- Tighten nut (10) with the
socket wrench and with the
socket wrench socket.
When tightening nut (10), setting screw (11) may not turn; adjustment must otherwise be repeated.
Adjust transition of the front side window (1) to the B-pillar cover (2), shown on model 257
- Unhook molded part of the seal (9) at the bottom from the B-pillar cover (2).
- Loosen screw (12).
- Adjust dimension (c) by turning the sleeve (13).
Turning the sleeve (13) counterclockwise increases ("+") the dimension (c). Turning sleeve (13) clockwise reduces ("-") dimension (c).
- Tighten screw (12).
- Hook the molded part of the seal (9) at the bottom onto the B-pillar cover (2).
