General
Depending on the vehicle, the panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit (1) is either a separate component part or forms a unit together with the panoramic sliding sunroof control unit.
The panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit (1)/panoramic sliding sunroof control module (2) is located on the front roof frame.
Vehicles with separate drive unit
The separate panoramic sliding sunroof control unit actuates the electric motor for the panoramic sliding sunroof (1.1) in the panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit (1).
Vehicles with integrated drive unit
The panoramic sliding sunroof control unit in the panoramic sliding sunroof control module (2) actuates the electric motor for the panoramic sliding sunroof (1.1).
Function
The following elements are integrated in the panoramic sliding sunroof drive unit:
- 2 Hall sensors (position and speed detection)
- Electric motor for panoramic sliding sunroof (1.1)
- Transfer case
The redirecting transmission of the panoramic sliding sunroof converts the rotating motion of the electric motor for the panoramic sliding sunroof (1.1) into a longitudinal motion. This changes the position of the sliding sunroof panel of the panoramic sliding sunroof. The installed Hall sensors record the motor speed and the position of the sliding sunroof panel.
