Rear Wing Control Unit, Component Description - GF88.50-P-5001FR
Model 290 up to model year 2021 except code U94 (Rear spoiler, static) except code U99 (Rear spoiler, static, carbon)
Shown on rear wing control unit (N170)
Location
The rear wing control unit is located on the rear left in the area of the rear wing.
Tasks
The rear wing control unit serves as the power amplifier of the rear wing. Additionally, it processes the signals of the position sensors electrically and transmits them via the aerodynamics LIN (LIN E3). The signals of the position sensors are registered by the drive unit control unit (N145/1), which also sets the control logic, e.g. via the following factors:
- Vehicle speed
- Vehicle dynamics
- Functional reliability
The rear wing can be extended and retracted manually via a button in the right lower control panel (N72/5) independently of the automatic control logic. If the rear wing is extended manually via the button, it always moves to the highest position and remains in an unchanged position for the ignition cycle. If the ignition is switched off, the system changes back into automatic mode. Manual retraction is carried out only if the pre-defined speed threshold permits this.
Input and output signals
The following input signals are evaluated by the rear wing control unit and the corresponding output signals are issued:
- Direct output and input signals
- Aerodynamics LIN input signals
- Aerodynamics LIN output signals
Direct output and input signals
Input signals:
- Circuit 87 (fused)
- Circuit 31
Output signals:
- Rear wing actuator motor actuation (M111)
Aerodynamics LIN input signals
- Rear wing extend request from drive unit control unit (N145/1)
Aerodynamics LIN output signal
- Rear wing status to drive unit control unit
