| 2 | Remove left and right side air vent outlet air temperature sensor. | AR83.30-P-7801FR | |
| 3 | Disconnect electrical connector of the ionizer from the left air duct (2). | Model 257, 290 with code P21 (Air quality package) |

| 4 | Remove left air duct (2) and right air duct (3). | ||
| 5 | Release center air duct (4) in direction of the arrow (A) and extend out of the retaining clip (5) downward in the direction of the arrow (B). | ||
| 6 | Unclip Bluetooth® antenna (A2/91) from the crossmember (1). | ||
| 7 | Unclip WLAN antenna (A2/83) from the crossmember (1). | ||
| 8 | Remove electrical wiring harness (7) from the crossmember (1). | Fig 1 | |
| 9 | Remove screws (8a, 8b, 8c, 8d) from crossmember (1) and carefully set down the steering column tube (9). | ||
| Topical note | Notes on threaded connections with aluminum screws/bolts | Position bolts (8a, 8b, 8c, 8d) lightly by hand first and then tighten them in the give sequence. |

| 12 | Mark installation position of the crossmember (1) relative to the A-pillars (arrows). | ||

| 14 | Remove grommets above the screws (12). | ||

| 16 | Remove bolts (13). | ||
| 17 | Remove screw (15). | *BA68.10-P-1003-02G | |
| 18 | Remove screws (14). | *BA68.10-P-1001-02G | |
| 19 | Guide crossmember (1) to the driver's side out of the electrical wiring harness (7) and remove from the vehicle. | ||
| 20 | Install in the reverse order. |
