DANGER Risk of fire  and explosion caused by ignition of window washing fluid or antifreeze and their vapors. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing window washing fluid or antifreeze or inhaling their vapors. Risk of injury  or physical irritations caused by contact of window washing fluid or antifreeze with eyes, mucous membranes or skin. Wear protective clothing and tight-fitting safety glasses. No open flames, fire or ignition sources. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and skin. When working with window washing fluids or antifreeze, do not eat, drink, or smoke. Do not inhale vapors and ensure sufficient ventilation in the working area. Store window washing fluid and antifreeze leakfree in safely closed original containers and out of the reach of children. WARNING Risk of injury  from engine start by remote start function Prior to starting work, open engine hood, do not reach into rotation range or hazard area of freely rotating parts, wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes AS00.00-Z-0024-01A
WARNING Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism. When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m). AS82.30-Z-0001-01A 
  Preparatory activity     
1 Close hood.    
2 Close liftgate, doors, sliding sunroof and side windows.    
3 Switch windshield wiper function to position "0" and switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0".    
  Check/correct     
4 Check park position of left windshield wiper blade (1) and right windshield wiper blade (2) on the windshield. IMPORTANT Wiper blade ends must be located at markings "A" and "B" (see arrows) on windshield and they may be offset by no more than 10 mm (0.39 Inch) upwards or downwards.
If the ends of the wiper blades deviate from the park position,

Check and adjust wiper arms.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
5 Check park position for rear window wiper blade (3) on rear window. Model 213.2
IMPORTANT The end of the wiper blade must rest on marking "C" (see arrow) on the rear window and it may be offset by no more than 10 mm (0.39 Inch) upwards or downwards.
If the end of the wiper blade deviates from the park position

Check and adjust wiper arm.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
6 Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "2" (circuit 15).    
7.1 Check spray nozzles (5) of windshield washer system at windshield for proper operation and correct setting by operating windshield washer system. Model 213, 257, 290
Model 238 except code 874 (MAGIC VISION CONTROL incl. heated windshield washer system)
If a spray nozzle (5) is clogged,

clean spray nozzle (5) and/or blow out using compressed air from inside to outside or replace spray nozzle (5).
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
If the spray jets do not impact in the marked area on the windshield,

Switch windshield wiper function to position "0" and switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0".
Correct setting of affected spray nozzles (5) using setting screws (6), continue with operation step 6.
 
7.2 Check spray nozzles of wiper blades on windshield during upward and downward movement of wiper arms for proper operation. Model 238 with code 874 (MAGIC VISION CONTROL incl. heated windshield washer system)
NOTES Do not clean spray nozzles of wiper blades with compressed air.
Damage can otherwise occur.
IMPORTANT The spray pattern must be uniform ahead of the wiper blade during the up and down movement.
If problems are determined,

Switch windshield wiper function to position "0" and switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0".
Clean spray nozzles of wiper blades with cleaning cloth. Continue with operation step 6.
If, despite cleaning, there is no improvement,

Replace wiper blades.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
8 Spray fluid onto windshield using windshield washer system.    
9 Switch windshield wiper of windshield to highest speed.    
10 Check deflection of wiper arms on windshield. NOTES The left windshield wiper blade (1) and right windshield wiper blade (2) must not collide with the A-pillar or cowl.
Damage can otherwise occur.
If problems are determined,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
11 Check spray nozzle (4) of windshield washer system at rear window for proper operation and correct setting by operating windshield washer system. Model 213.2
If the spray nozzle (4) is clogged,

clean spray nozzle (4) and/or blow out with compressed air from inside to outside or replace spray nozzle (4).
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
If the spray jet does not impact in the marked area on the rear window,

Switch windshield wiper function to position "0" and switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0".
Correct setting of spray nozzle (4). After this, switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "2" and repeat operation step 11.

13 Switch windshield wiper of rear window to highest speed. Model 213.2  
14 Check deflection of wiper arm on rear window. Model 213.2
NOTES The rear window wiper blade (3) must not make contact with the tailgate.
Damage can otherwise occur.
If problems are determined,

rectify the problems.
IMPORTANT After obtaining special order.
 
  Finishing activity     
15 Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0".    
16 Reset windshield wiper function to initial condition.    
17 Check/correct fluid level of windshield washer system. Only for service with Plus package. AP82.35-P-8210C
