	Preparatory activity
1	Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "2" (circuit 15).
	Check
2	Check preglow system indicator lamp (1).	Model 167, 213, 238, 257 with engine 654, 656 Model 213, 238 with engine 642 The preglow system indicator lamp (1) must light up and then go out. If problems occur, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
3	Check coolant temperature display (5) and coolant temperature warning lamp (4).	The display of the coolant temperature gauge (5) must show the corresponding coolant temperature and the coolant temperature warning lamp (4) must light up. If problems occur, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
4	Check fuel display (8) and fuel reserve warning lamp (7).	The fuel display (8) must show the corresponding fuel level in the fuel tank, and the fuel reserve warning lamp (7) must light up. If problems occur, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
5	Check multifunction display (6) for visible pixel faults, vertical stripes, failed segments or black points.	If problems occur, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
6	Manually switch on the exterior lighting.
7	Check instrument lighting.	The tachometer (2) and speedometer (9) must be illuminated. If problems occur, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
8	Operate instrument lighting brightness control.	The instrument illumination must be brighter or darker to match. If problems occur, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
9	Manually switch off exterior lighting.
10	Switch on lamps in rear passenger compartment and check for proper operation.	Interior lights, Reading lamps, Mirror lamps, Glove compartment lamps. If problems occur, ↓ Rectify problems. After obtaining special order.
11	Switch off lamps in rear passenger compartment.

12	Switch electronic ignition lock control unit to position "0".
