DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

INSPECT Check     
2 Assess wear pattern of tires on front and rear axle. IMPORTANT Greater wear at the shoulder compared to the center of the tire is normal for the front wheel-and-tire assemblies. On the tires of the rear wheel-and-tire assemblies the wear at the center of the tread depth is mostly somewhat more pronounced than at the tire shoulders. If an unusual wear pattern is present,

rectify problem. E After obtaining special order.		  
3 Assess tire tread depths of tires on front and rear axle. NOTES For summer tires with a minimum tread depth of approx. 3 mm (0.12 inches) and for winter tires with a minimum tread depth of approx. 4 mm (0.16 inches), replace tires for safety reasons. Damage can otherwise occur.
IMPORTANT The major tread must exhibit a minimum tread depth of at least 1.6 mm (0.06 inches) along its entire circumference. Assess tire tread depth at point of greatest wear.
IMPORTANT The cited tire tread depths apply for the Federal Republic of Germany. Observe other country-specific requirements accordingly.
If the minimum tread depth is reached,

replace the tire.

4.1 Check manufacturing date of tires on front and rear axle. Model 221.128 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version)
Model 221.176 with code Z07 (B7 armoring on special protection version) except code Z19 (S600 Pullman Guard state sedan)

REFER TO BASIC KNOWLEDGE   If manufacturing date is more than 6 years ago:

for safety reasons, replace the tire.

4.2 Check manufacturing date of tires on front and rear axle. Model 461, 463 with code 979 (Special protection MB Guard) If the manufacturing date for Bridgestone or Kumho tires is older than 3 years,

for safety reasons, replace the tire.

5 Check mileage of tires on front and rear axle. Model 461, 463 with code 979 (Special protection MB Guard) If the tires are Bridgestone or Kumho and a mileage of 20, 000 km (12, 500 mi) is reached,

If a mileage of 80, 000 km (50, 000 mi) is reached,

replace rims for safety reasons.
