Check Basic Position Of Camshafts - AR05.20-P-6010MSC

CAUTION Risk of injury  to skin and eyes due to handling of engine oil. Risk of poisoning  caused by swallowing engine oil Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not fill engine oil into beverage containers.		 AS18.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove upper service flap.   AR01.10-P-2405-02MSC
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut to wiper arm on front windshield wiper system *BA82.30-P-1001-01R 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION M6 X 1 *BA00.10-P-1002-04A 
2 Remove Hall sensor of the exhaust camshaft.   AR15.12-P-2147MSC
3 Remove Hall sensor of the intake camshaft.   AR15.12-P-2146MSC
4 Turn engine in direction of engine rotation to cylinder 1 ignition TDC and install retaining lock for crankshaft. IMPORTANT If marking (M) is not visible, piston of cylinder 1 is not at ignition TDC. AR03.30-P-5001MSC
5 Remove engine air intake duct downstream of air filter.   AR09.10-P-8130MSC
6 Remove front noise insulation.    
7 Remove wide open throttle bleed line from oil separator.   AR01.20-P-9750MSC
8 Remove rear noise insulation.    
9 Remove screws (60a). NOTES When loosening and tightening the screws (60a), do not damage the fuel high-pressure line.
Leaks can occur otherwise.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, service cover to camshaft housing		 *BA05.20-P-1003-04MRT 
10 Loosen screw (60b). NOTES When loosening and tightening the screw (60b), do not damage the fuel high-pressure line.
Leaks can occur otherwise.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw, service cover to camshaft housing		 *BA05.20-P-1003-04MRT 
    SPECIAL TOOL Box wrench bit Fig 3
    SPECIAL TOOL Engine mount wrench set Fig 2
11 Remove service covers (61). INSTALLATION NOTES :
Ensure seal is correctly installed.
The seals will otherwise be damaged.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace seals.		  
INSPECT Check     
12 Install locating tool in service openings to check basic position of camshafts. IMPORTANT The SPECIAL TOOL locating tool must be inserted in the service openings in a disassembled manner.

    If locating tool can not be inserted:

Set basic position of the camshafts.		 AR05.20-P-6020MSC 
13 Install in the reverse order.
