Rear Shock-Absorber Strut Tower Installation - Ar64.20-P-1160-03MEX
Model 167.9
The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.
The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Transfer positions of existing holes in body to suspension shock-absorber strut tower (1) with drill hole finder (areas A1 ).
- Install shock-absorber strut tower (1), fit with the straightener, and fix in place.
- Drill rivet holes with a diameter of 6.7 mm through the existing holes in the body (areas B1 , B2 ).
- Remove straightener and remove shock-absorber strut tower (1).
- Drill rivet holes in the positions that were transferred to the shock-absorber strut tower (1) with the drill hole finder with a diameter of.6, 7 mm (areas A1 ).
- Countersink rivet holes on the shock-absorber strut tower (1) (area B2 ).
- Deburr rivet holes on suspension strut tower (1) and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install suspension strut tower (1) and fix in place.
- Rivet shock-absorber strut tower (1) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 12.5 (areas D).
