Wheel Well Prepare For Installation - Ar62.20-P-1200-19ME

Model 167 

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle in model 167.1. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

  1. Mark separating point on wheel well (1) and cut (area A).

    IMPORTANT Transfer separation point from vehicle.

  2. Grind mating surfaces on wheel well (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

  3. Grind mating surfaces on wheel well (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

    Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal on the bottom (area B).

  4. Remove grinding dust.
  5. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas B, C).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  6. Grind mating surfaces on connecting carrier (3) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  7. Remove grinding dust.
  8. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (D areas).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  9. Grind mating surfaces at longitudinal member (2) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  10. Remove grinding dust.
  11. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas E).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
