Suspension Strut Tower Installation - Ar62.20-P-1232-04ME

Model 167 

The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 167.1. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Transfer positions of the available holes in the body to the suspension strut tower (1) with the drill hole finder (areas A).
2. Install suspension strut tower (1), fit with straighteners, and fix in place.
3. Drill rivet holes on the suspension strut tower (1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (areas A, B).

   Drill rivet holes from the inside (area B).

4. Drill rivet holes on the suspension strut tower (1) with a diameter of 6.7 mm (area C).
5. Remove suspension strut tower (1).
6. Deburr rivet holes on suspension strut tower (1) and body on both sides.
7. Remove drilling chips.
8. Coat with zinc dust paint insides of those riveted joints that will not be bonded.

9. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

10. Install suspension strut tower (1) and fix in place.
11. Rivet suspension strut tower (1) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 14.5 (areas A₁ , B₁ ).

12. Rivet suspension strut tower (1) with rivets with a diameter of 6.5 x 12.5 (area C₁ ).
13. Suspension strut tower (1) (area D).
