| 2 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m). | ||
| 3 | Remove cover above brake fluid expansion reservoir. | ||

| 5 | Unscrew cap on brake fluid expansion reservoir and suction off some brake fluid. | ||
| 6 | Remove right or left rear wheel and tire assembly. | AR40.10-P-1102ME | |
| 7 | Release and disconnect electrical connector from rear right brakepad wear sensor (S10/4). | On the right side of the vehicle. | |
| 8 | Unscrew screw at coupling housing of rear right brakepad wear sensor (S10/4) and place coupling housing to one side. | On the right side of the vehicle. | |
| 9 | Unscrew bolt (7). | ||
| 10 | Fold up brake caliper (3) and secure free of tension with connected lines at vehicle. | Do not tension or kink brake hose. Otherwise the brake hose may be damaged. |

| 11 | Remove brakepads (1, 2) from brake caliper support (6). | ||
| 12 | Remove retaining springs (4) from brake caliper support (6). | ||
| 13 | Pull rear right brakepad wear sensor (S10/4) out of backing plate of brakepad (2). | On the right side of the vehicle. | |

| 14 | Check brakepads (1, 2) for wear and condition. | ||

| 17 | Clean contact surfaces of brakepads (1, 2) at brake caliper support (6) and at brake caliper (3). | Do not use sharp-edged or pointed objects. Otherwise the brake caliper (3), dust boot (13) at brake piston or the brake caliper support (6) may be damaged. |

| 18 | Install rear right brakepad wear sensor (S10/4) to backing plate of brakepad (2). | If brakepad (2) or rear right brakepad wear sensor (S10/4) is replaced. | |

| 20 | Install brakepads (1, 2). | ||
| 21 | Press back brake piston using pusher tool (01). | If the removed brake caliper (3) is reinstalled. | |
If the brake piston is sluggish, ↓ Replace brake caliper (3). |
