Activate pad replacement mode
- Turn ignition lock to position "15R".
Display day and kilometer reading in "Trip" menu item.
- Close hood.
If the message "Hood open" appears on the multifunction display.
- Release parking brake.
- First, press the "Back" button and hold it down; then within 1 s also press the "OK" button and hold it down.
After approx. 5 s, the multifunction display shows the Workshop menu with the tabs "Vehicle data", "Dynamometer test", "Brakepad replacement" and "ASSYST PLUS".
- Select "Brakepad change" using "Back" button and confirm selection using the "OK" button.
The multifunction display shows the message "Move to assembly position".
- Confirm using "OK" button.
Do not depress the service brake during "Move to assembly position".
Otherwise, damage to the spindle in the brake caliper will occur.
The multifunction display shows the message "Assembly position reached".
- Switch off ignition: Prevent an unintentional departure from the assembly position.
Deactivate pad replacement mode
- Turn ignition lock to position "15R".
Leave the assembly position only with the brakepads fitted and the brake caliper installed. Otherwise it pushes the brake piston out of the brake caliper.
"Assembly position reached, leave assembly position" message appears in the multifunction display.
- Confirm using "OK" button.
While the assembly position is being left, the multifunction display shows the message "Leaving assembly position". When the process has finished, the multifunction display shows the message "Assembly position left".
- Confirm using "OK" button.
The workshop menu with "Vehicle data", "Dynamometer test", "Brakepad change" and "ASSYST PLUS" panels appears in the multifunction display.
- Leave workshop menu using the "Back" button.
- Switch off ignition.
