WARNING Risk of injury  To skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove upper Engine cover.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP01.10-P-2405-01M
2 Remove cap at low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir.    
3 Remove underfloor paneling (3).   AR61.30-P-1001ME
4 Remove front lower Engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105ME
5.1 Remove left lower Engine compartment lining (1). Engine 176 In Model 167 with code 430 (Offroad package) Engine 176 In Model 167 with code 481 (Sump shield)  
      AR61.20-P-1105ME
5.2 Remove front section of left front fender liner. Engine 176 In Model 167 except code 430 (Offroad package) except code 481 (Sump shield)  
      AR88.10-P-1301ME
  Drain off     
6 Remove coolant hose (2) from low-temperature circuit circulation pump 1 (M43/6) and collect escaping coolant in suitable container.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
7 Remove coolant hoses (4) at battery box (5) separating point and collect escaping coolant in suitable container.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
8 Attach coolant hoses (4) at battery box (5) separating point.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
9 Attach coolant hose (2) to low-temperature circuit circulation pump 1 (M43/6).   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ
  Pour in     
10 Add coolant and bleed low-temperature circuit   AR20.00-P-1142-04A
    IMPORTANT Re-use clean coolant.  
    FLUID SPECIFICATION Cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-06A 
    SPECIAL TOOL Electric vacuum pump Fig 3
    SPECIAL TOOL NTKL Adaption Fig 1
    SPECIAL TOOL Cooler vacuum filling device Fig 4
    SPECIAL TOOL Test cap Fig 2
INSPECT Check     
11 Check low-temperature circuit for leak tightness.   AR09.41-P-1011MNO 
INSTALLING Install     
12 Attach cap at low-temperature circuit expansion reservoir.    
13.1 Install left lower Engine compartment lining (1) Engine 176 In Model 167 with code 430 (Offroad package) Engine 176 In Model 167 with code 481 (Sump shield)  
      AR61.20-P-1105ME
13.2 Install front section of left front fender liner. Engine 176 In Model 167 except code 430 (Offroad package) except code 481 (Sump shield)  
      AR88.10-P-1301ME
14 Install front lower Engine compartment lining.   AR61.20-P-1105ME
15 Install underfloor paneling (3).   AR61.30-P-1001ME
16 Install upper Engine cover.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP01.10-P-2405-01M
