The bonding area must be free of dust and grease.
Otherwise, the adhesive force of the adhesive material will be impaired.
If the degree of damage is ≤ 10 %, repair with primer stick. If the degree of damage is > 10 %, coat body flange with primer filler.
Otherwise corrosion damage may occur.
Use only primer fillers and primer sticks approved by Daimler AG: http://xentryportal.mercedes-benz.com
Use only the repair kit specified in the EPC.
- Reduce remaining adhesive material on the body flanges (1) with a suitable scraper to a height of approx. 2 mm and remove loose remaining adhesive material.
- Clean working area.
- Clean adhesive area (2) on the body flange (1) with the cleaner contained in the repair kit and rub dry with a dry cloth.
- Repair paint damage in bonding area (2) and on body flanges (1) with a primer stick or primer filler.
Observe the manufacturer's specifications for the curing and processing time of the primer filler.
- Apply primer onto body flanges (1) in areas with missing or damaged residual adhesive material.
The primer must flash off for at least 10 min.
Otherwise, the adhesive force of the adhesive material will be impaired.
