| 1 | Remove rear seat. | AR91.12-P-4026ME | |
| 2 | Unclip covers (1) of child seat attachments. | ||
| 3 | Disconnect electrical connector (2) of seat cushion heat mat. | Model 167.9 with code 224 (Individual rear seats) with code 872 (Left and right rear seat heating) except code M036 (Maybach version) |

| 4 | Unhook seat cushion cover (3) from seat cushion frame (4). | Fig 1 | |
| 5 | Remove seat cushion cover (3) together with seat cushion padding (5). | ||
| 6 | Release seat cushion cover (3) far enough from seat cushion padding (5) until the staple clips are accessible. | ||
| 7 | Separate staple clips at attachment points (arrows) and remove remaining pieces from seat cushion padding (5). | Carefully remove the remaining pieces of staple clips. Otherwise, the seat cushion padding (5) and the seat cushion cover (3) will be damaged. |

| 9 | Remove staple wires (6) from seat cushion cover (3). | When replacing the seat cushion cover (3). Ensure that the staple wires are seated correctly. |
