Remove/Install Center Rear Seat Backrest Cover - AR91.18-P-0003ME

Model 167.1 

With Code 567 (Vario rear seat) 

Model 167.9 

With Code 226 (7-seater with 3rd seat row)

  Remove/install     
1 Remove left rear seat.   AR91.12-P-4026ME 
2 Remove cover (1). Model 167.1 with code 567 (Vario rear seat) with code 847 (3rd seat row)
Model 167.9 with code 226 (7-seater with 3rd seat row)
except code M036 (Maybach version)
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Long wedge Fig 1
3 Remove center rear seat backrest trim.   AR91.12-P-1134ME 
4 Operate release on left head restraint guide (2) and pull out center head restraint (3) upward. Model 167.1 with code 567 (Vario rear seat)
except code 447 (Touchscreen in rear)
except code P08 (Rear comfort package)
Model 167.9 with code 226 (7-seater with 3rd seat row)
except code 447 (Touchscreen in rear)
except code M036 (Maybach version)
except code P08 (Rear comfort package)
 
5 Remove armrest.   AR91.12-P-1744MEX 
6 Unhook seat backrest cover (4) from seat backrest frame (5). SPECIAL TOOL Dismantling tool Fig 2
7 Release seat backrest cover (4) together with seat backrest padding from seat backrest frame (5).    
8 Release head restraint guides (2) in seat backrest and remove upward. Model 167.1 with code 567 (Vario rear seat)
except code 447 (Touchscreen in rear)
except code P08 (Rear comfort package)
Model 167.9 with code 226 (7-seater with 3rd seat row)
except code 447 (Touchscreen in rear)
except code M036 (Maybach version)
except code P08 (Rear comfort package)
IMPORTANT To do so, grip between seat backrest frame (5) and seat backrest padding.
 
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace head restraint guides (2) and check for correct installation position.  
9 Remove seat backrest cover (4) together with seat backrest padding.    
10 Release seat backrest cover (4) from seat backrest padding until staple clips are accessible.    
11 Separate staple clips from attachment points and remove remaining pieces. NOTES
Carefully remove remaining pieces of staple clips.
Otherwise there will be damage to the seat backrest cover (4) and the seat backrest padding.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Remove creases and smooth out seat backrest cover (4).
 
    SPECIAL TOOL Padding clip pliers Fig 3
12 Remove seat backrest cover (4) from seat backrest padding.    
13 Remove staple wires from seat backrest cover (4). When replacing the seat backrest cover (4).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Insert staple wires into new seat backrest cover (4).
Ensure that staple wires are seated correctly.
 
14 Install in the reverse order.
