| 14.07.2021 | Perform ventilation routine of engine management control unit (MCM). | Operation step 16. |
| Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. |

| 1 | Remove cap (1) from the expansion reservoir. | ||

| 4 | Remove nuts (4). | ||
| 5 | Remove screws (5) and remove strut (6). | ||
| 6 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (7). | Engine 177 in model 167 except code M036 (Maybach version) |

| 7 | Unlock lock (8), remove low-temperature circuit circulation pump 1 (M43/6) with the bracket from the fan unit (2), and secure against falling down using suitable means. | Engine 177 in model 167 except code M036 (Maybach version) |

| Drain off | |||
| 8 | Slide drain hose onto drain fitting (9) at cooler. | ||
| 9 | Open drain screw (10), drain coolant, and capture it in a suitable container. | Unscrew drain screw (10) only until the coolant drains off. Permanent damage to the drain screw (10) will occur otherwise. |

| 10 | Tighten drain screw (10) and remove drain hose. | ||
| Install | |||
| 11 | Attach low-temperature circuit circulation pump 1 (M43/6) to fan unit (2) and connect electrical connector (7) to low-temperature circuit circulation pump 1 (M43/6). | Engine 177 in model 167 except code M036 (Maybach version) |
