Notes On Retrofitting An Alcohol Breathalyzer - AH54.21-P-0001-08A

Model All (CAR) 

Do not install alcohol breathalyzer in airbag deployment area or in possible occupant contact area.

Assembly notes: 

• Secure attachment of the alcohol breathalyzer must be ensured during installation.
• Safety-relevant switches may not be covered up by the installation of the alcohol breathalyzer (e.g. : hazard warning light).
• Install components of alcohol breathalyzer in lockable stowage compartments where possible (e.g. : center console, glove compartment).
• Install components of alcohol breathalyzer so that driver is not impaired/hindered when driving.
• Install hand unit of alcohol breathalyzer so that there are no unsecured electric lines in driver footwell.

Diagnosis: 

• The function of the alcohol breathalyzer must be activated using the diagnostic system after installation.
• An "After-Sales Standard" secure onboard communication authorization is required for activation.
• The alcohol breathalyzer is activated in the EZS control unit.
