- Check rear fixed element (3) for damage.
If damage is present,
↓
replace rear fixed element (3).
- Install cup suction tools to outside of rear panoramic roof and set down rear panoramic roof with inside facing upwards on a suitable base with aid of helper.
Helper required.
- Cut back adhesive bead (1) at rear fixed element (3) using a scraper to a residual height of approx. 1 to 2 mm.
If rear fixed element (3) is reused.
- Fully cut back residues of spacers (4) and adhesive bead (1) present in this area.
If rear fixed element (3) is reused.
- Remove cutting residues using a wet and dry vacuum cleaner.
If rear fixed element (3) is reused.
- Apply cleaner using part of cleaning cloth to bonding surface on inside of rear fixed element (3) and wipe dry with other part of cleaning cloth.
The cleaner is included in the repair kit.
Allow cleaner to dry completely.
- Apply primer uniformly to all bonding surfaces on inside of rear fixed element (3) and allow to fully dry.
Do not apply any primer to uncoated areas.
This primer layer remains visible after installation.
If rear fixed element (3) is reused, only the bonding surfaces without residual adhesive material must be coated with primer.
The primer is included in the repair kit.
- Replace spacers (4).
If rear fixed element (3) is reused.
