Bonding surfaces must be free from dust, oil, grease, wax, dirt residues and other adhesive components. Otherwise there may be adhesion problems.
Only use the adhesive kit indicated in the XENTRY Portal parts information.
Otherwise, adhesion problems will occur.
- Open adhesive cartridge and insert sealing and corrosion protection gun.
To press out the remaining residual quantities in the adhesive cartridges,
insert adapters in adhesive cartridges and plates at push rods of sealing and corrosion protection gun.
- Cut application nozzle so that the adhesive bead can be applied with a height of 14 mm and a width of 8 mm to 10 mm.
The height of adhesive bead must be 3 mm when installed.
- Actuate sealing and corrosion protection gun until the level in the adhesive cartridges is compensated.
Both adhesive components should exit from openings in adhesive cartridges.
- Install mixing tube on adhesive cartridges.
- Ensure a uniform premixing of the adhesive components; for this purpose, press out and discard two mixing tube lengths.
- Mix one additional measuring tube length for reference.
During processing breaks ≥ 15 min, rinse mixing tube by pressing out adhesive material or install new mixing tube taking operation step 4 into account. The strength of the adhesively bonded connection is otherwise reduced and the required adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
The reference adhesive bead is used to check and confirm the adhesive curing of the adhesively bonded connection before moving the vehicle for the first time after gluing in the front stationary element (1).
- Apply adhesive material evenly on the bonding surfaces of the front stationary element (1).
Apply adhesive material as quickly as possible and position front stationary element (1) on the body flange and fix it in place as quickly as possible. The strength of the adhesively bonded connection is otherwise impaired and the required adhesion of the adhesive material is not ensured.
Adhesive bead must be as shown, above adhesive retainers (2).
The adhesive bead must have a closed profile.
Apply adhesive material in the form of an adhesive bead with a height of approx. 14 mm and a width of approx. 8 to 10 mm. Immediately remove soiling caused by adhesive.
