Pry off joint hub (37d)
- Pry off joint hub (37d) using
drift from the rear axle shaft (37a).
- Check joint hub (37d) and rear axle shaft (37a) for damage on spline edges.
If on the splined profile (arrow) of the joint hub (37d) no more than 3 teeth per caulking, up to a maximum length of 6 mm, have broken out:

The joint hub (37d) can continue to be used.
Press on joint hub (37d)
- Clamp rear axle shaft (37a) in vise.
Use soft vise jaws.
- Press on joint hub (37d) using suitable tool until projection dimension (b) is reached.
Projection dimension (b) = 4.2 mm.
Caulk joint hub (37d)
- Clamp rear axle shaft (37a) in the vise so the joint hub (37d) lies on the jaws.
It must still be possible to turn the ball retainer.
- Apply the new caulkings to be applied (arrows) with caulker centrally between the existing caulkings.
In order to prevent damage (e.g. breaking away) of the ball raceways, the caulkings (arrow) must be made as close as possible to the splined profile (37a) of the rear axle shaft.
