Rear Shock Absorber Strut Tower Preparation (Model 167.3) - Ar64.20-P-1160-02MEC

Model 167.3 

The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.

The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.

1. Grind mating surfaces on the load compartment floor crossmember (2) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas on the insides (areas A).
2. Remove grinding dust.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

3. Mark separating point from the rear inner longitudinal member (4) and cut (area B).

   Transfer separation point from vehicle.

4. Grind mating surfaces on the rear inner longitudinal member (4) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.

   Grind bonding surfaces down to bare metal on the insides (area C).

5. Remove grinding dust.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

6. Grind mating surfaces on the rear seat belt retractor mounting support (3) down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas on the inside.
7. Remove grinding dust.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surface (area D).

8. Grind mating surfaces on suspension strut tower (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

   Grind bonding surfaces down to bare metal on the insides (areas F).

9. Remove grinding dust.

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
