One cartridge of single-component adhesive is sufficient for installation of a window.
If necessary, an adapter must be used to press out the remaining quantity of adhesive material from the cartridge.
The following information must always be observed.
Otherwise, reliable and correct bonding cannot be assured because it is not possible.
- The single-component cold adhesive can be processed when cold, it does not need to be pre-heated.
- The bonding surfaces must be fully free of dust and grease. Ensure that no fingerprints are present in the area of the bonding surface.
- The primer must be shaken before use for at least 1 min.
- After being applied, the primer must flash-off for at least 10 minutes.
- The primer may not be applied to the old adhesive bead residue. Primer may only be applied to a new window or a bodyshell surface not yet primed.
- Apply the primer once, as thinly as possible, without extended wiping.
- The application nozzle included must be used and it may not be modified. The application nozzle generates a functional adhesive bead at a height of approx. 13 mm.
- The width of the adhesive bead must be at least two thirds of the width of the adhesive bead markings on the component parts to be bonded.
- The window must be positioned within a period of 10 minutes onto the body flange.
- The vehicle must not be moved until 30 minutes after window installation.
- Under normal workshop conditions (interior temperature approx. 22°C) the vehicle should wait for a period of 2 hours after the window installation before being introduced again into public road traffic.
