Connection scheme

The following operation steps are described on the left-hand drive vehicle, the installation in right-hand drive is carried out mirror-inverted.

1. Cut a commercially available brown line (BN) to dimension b  .

   Dimensions: 

   b = 400 mm

   The line diameter of the brown line (BN) must be 0.75 mm² .

2. Install an MQS contact  on brown line (BN).

   The MQS contact  is available in the basic wiring harness repair kit or the supplementary wiring harness repair kit for passenger cars.

3. Install a round cable lug Ø 6 mm on brown line (BN).
4. Install brown line (BN) on twisted black line (BK) and black/white line (BK/WH) using duct tape.

   The brown line (BN) and the twisted black line (BK) and black/white line (BK/WH) form the CAN wiring harness (1).

5. Wind felt tape around twisted black line (BK) and black/white line (BK/WH) starting 20 mm behind MQS contacts  (dimension c) at a length of 1100 mm (dimension a).

   The brown line (BN) may only be integrated far enough so it can still be connected to the left center console ground point (W91).

6. Connect brown line (BN) of CAN wiring harness (1) to left center console ground point (W91). .
7. Install black/white line (BK/WH) into contact cavity 8  of front center console electrical connector (X138/1).

   The chambers of the front center console electrical connector (X138/1) are labeled.

8. Install black line (BK) into contact cavity 9  of front center console electrical connector (X138/1).

   The chambers of the front center console electrical connector (X138/1) are labeled.

9. Install brown line (BN) into contact cavity 10  of front center console electrical connector (X138/1).

   The chambers of the front center console electrical connector (X138/1) are labeled.

10. Route twisted black line (BK) and black/white line (BK/WH) of CAN wiring harness into driver footwell and fix in place using cable ties and felt tape.
11. Route twisted black line (BK) and black/white line (BK/WH) of CAN wiring harness (1) to telematics CAN (CAN A) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/35) and fix in place using felt tape.
12. Connect violet 2-pin connector (1.1) to telematics CAN (CAN A) potential distributor electrical connector (X30/35).
