The next steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 247.6. In case of damage on the right side of the vehicle, these steps must be performed analogously.
The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Install wheel well (1), fit with straightening tools and fix in place.
- Drill rivet holes on wheel well (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (areas A).
- Drill rivet holes on wheel well (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (areas B, C).
Drill rivet holes through present rivet holes in body (areas C).
- Drill rivet holes on wheel well (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (areas D, E).
Drill rivet holes through present rivet holes in body (areas D).
- Take off wheel well (1) with straighteners.
- Deburr rivet holes on wheel well (1) and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Coat with zinc dust paint insides of those riveted joints that will not be bonded.
Do not apply zinc dust paint to bonding surfaces.
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in cross-hatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install the wheel well (1), fit with straighteners and fix in place.
- Rivet wheel well (1) with rivets Ø 6.5x14.5 (areas F1 ).
- Rivet wheel well (1) with rivets Ø 6.5x12.5 (areas F2 ).
- Wheel well (1)
(areas G).
- Rivet wheel wall (1) with rivets Ø 6.5x12.5 (areas H1 ).
- Rivet wheel wall (1) with rivets Ø 6.4x12 (areas H2 ).
- Rivet wheel wall (1) with rivets Ø 6.5x14.5 (area H3 ).
- Wheel well (1)
(area H4).
- Rivet wheel wall (1) with rivets Ø 6.4x12 (areas J1 ).
- Rivet wheel wall (1) with rivets Ø 6.5x12.5 (areas J2 ).
- Rivet wheel wall (1) with rivets Ø 6.5x14.5 (area J3 ).
