Remove/Install Low Temperature Circuit Expansion Reservoir - AR09.41-P-0001MFC

Engine 260 in model 118, 177, 247

WARNING Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
WARNING Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the overpressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. AS20.00-Z-0001-01A
CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.
Deburr repair panels.

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove upper Engine cover.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP01.10-P-2405-01C
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Only install upper Engine cover after the leak test.  
2 Remove cap (2) from the coolant expansion reservoir (1). IMPORTANT Slowly remove cap (2) and relieve overpressure.  
3 Extract coolant from expansion reservoir (1). SPECIAL TOOL Hand pump Fig 2
4 Remove bleed line (6) from the expansion reservoir (1) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs. SPECIAL TOOL Record plug Fig 5
5 Remove vacuum line (4) and fuel line (5) from the expansion reservoir (1).    
6 Remove screw (7).    
7 Clamp off coolant hose (3), remove from the expansion reservoir (1), and seal openings with protective covers.   AR20.20-P-7441-01RQ

8 Pull expansion reservoir (1) toward the rear out of the guide and remove.    
9 Install in the reverse order. I  
INSPECT Check     
10 Check coolant level in the expansion reservoir (1) and correct if necessary. FLUID SPECIFICATION Engine cooling system *BF20.00-P-1001-02AB 
11 Check low-temperature circuit for leak tightness.   AR09.41-P-1011MFC 
12 Install upper Engine cover.    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE     AP01.10-P-2405-01C
