| Remove/install | |||
| 1 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmitter range (min. 2 m). | ||
| 2 | Remove edge guard in area of cover (2). | ||
| 3 | Remove cover (2). | Fig 2 | |
| 4.1 | Release retaining clamp (3) through opening in cover (2), unclip cover (1) at arrows (A) and loosen until the electrical connector is accessible. | Model 118, 177 Do not stretch or kink lines. This will result in damage to the lines which may impair their functional capability. |

| 4.2 | Release retaining clamps of switch group for exterior lighting and electric parking brake (S1/2) through opening of cover (2) and loosen until the electrical connector is accessible. | Model 243, 247 Do not stretch or kink lines. This will result in damage to the lines which may impair their functional capability. |

| 5 | Release and disconnect electrical connector from switch group for exterior lighting and electric parking brake (S1/2). | ||
| 6 | Remove switch group for exterior lighting and electric parking brake (S1/2) from cover (1). | Model 118, 177 | |
| 7 | Install in the reverse order. |
