The superordinate service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
The following operation steps are shown on model 177.0.
- Expose spot welds at spare wheel well (1) and drill out with Ø 6.5 mm (areas A1
, A2
, and A3
).
Operation step 2 is shown on the left side of the vehicle. Perform in same manner on right side of vehicle.
- Expose spot welds at spare wheel well (1) and rear-end floor (2) and cut off (areas C1
, C2
, C3
, C4
, C5
and C6
).
- Expose spot welds on rear-end floor (2) and cut off (area B).
- Heat rear-end floor (2) in cross-hatched area.
- Remove spare wheel well (1) with rear-end floor (2).
Cross-hatched area is bonded.
- Surface-grind mating surface in cross-hatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to mating surface in cross-hatched areas. onto connecting flanges that are no longer accessible after installing side roof paneling.

- Surface-grind mating surface in cross-hatched areas.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to mating surface in cross-hatched areas. onto connecting flanges that are no longer accessible after installing side roof paneling.
- Grind mating surface down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Apply zinc dust paint to insides of spot weld flanges. onto connecting flanges that are no longer accessible after installing side roof paneling.
