The following operation steps are shown on model 177.0.
The higher-level service document as well as the safety information in the service document must be observed.
- Install spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor, and crossmember, fit and fix in place.
Drill rivet holes through existing holes in body.
- Drill rivet holes with a diameter of 6.7 mm in spare wheel well (1) and countersink (areas A1
, A2
, A3
).
- Drill rivet holes with a diameter of 6.7 mm in crossmember (3) and countersink (areas A4
, A5
).
- Drill rivet holes with a diameter of 6.7 mm in spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor (2), and crossmember and countersink (areas B1
, B2
, B3
, B4
, B5
).
The operation step is shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side of the vehicle.
- Remove spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor (2), and crossmember.
- Deburr rivet holes in spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor (2), crossmember, and body on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.
- Apply 2-component adhesive in cross-hatched area on body.
The 2-component adhesive is partly stripped off in this area when the rear-end floor is installed, making it necessary to apply additional adhesive for compensation. Also apply 2-component adhesive to new part.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Install spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor, and crossmember and fix in place.
- Rivet spare wheel well (1) using rivets with a diameter of 6.4x17.0 (areas C1
, C2
, C3
).
- Rivet crossmember (3) using rivets with a diameter of 6.4x14.0 (areas C4
, C5
).
- Rivet spare wheel well (1), rear-end floor (2), and crossmember using rivets with a diameter of 6.4x17.0 (areas D1
, D2
, D3
, D4
, D5
).
